Goodhart Marketing didn’t start as a business — it started as a passion. Back in 2016, Conner Goodhart was creating music videos in his bedroom for class assignments. What started as simple projects quickly turned into something more — a series of videos, then content featuring his basketball and track teams, and eventually a growing interest in the people behind the stories. Through sports and content creation, he realized something early on: every person has a story worth telling, and telling it the right way matters.
That creative drive didn’t stop at video. In high school, Conner expanded into graphic design — creating apparel, selling t-shirts, and building small-scale brands. Around that same time, a handshake at a basketball game turned into a partnership that would grow into a small-town media movement — producing music videos, selling merchandise, and constantly chasing the next big idea. From the beginning, the goal was always the same: go bigger, create more, and build something meaningful.
After high school, Conner enrolled at Minnesota State University Moorhead, initially pursuing film. It didn’t take long to realize that while he loved creativity, he didn’t want to just create — he wanted to build. That shift led him to business. While attending school full-time, he began working at an auto body shop as a detailer — and that’s where everything changed.
Cars had always been part of Conner’s life, but working in the industry reignited that passion in a new way. He immersed himself in the world of collision repair, parts, and mechanical work, eventually moving into the parts department and gaining a deeper understanding of the business side of the industry. At the same time, he picked up a second job at a old-school dealership, stepping into sales and sharpening his ability to connect with people. Balancing two jobs and school full-time, one thing became clear: he wasn’t just learning jobs — he was learning industries.
During an job interview at another body shop, Conner had a realization — his experience wasn’t limited to one role. It was a combination of creativity, business, sales, and industry knowledge. That realization sparked the launch of Goodhart Marketing. By combining his background in content creation with real-world automotive experience, Conner found a niche — helping businesses, especially in the Fargo automotive scene, tell their stories in a way that actually connects with their audience.
As Goodhart Marketing grew, it was never built alone. Working alongside longtime connections like Lucia, a trusted collaborator and former manager, and Sarah, a go-to brand representative, Conner has built a team that understands both the creative and operational sides of marketing. Behind the scenes, a strong network of friends and collaborators continues to support projects, bringing ideas to life and pushing the brand forward.
Goodhart Marketing is still evolving — and that’s by design. Because this was never about building just another marketing company. It was about building something real, something creative, something strategic, and something that lasts.
